NCT 127 and the magic of The Unity.

From Seoul to Jakarta, Bulacan, Bangkok, Macau and Japan – NCT 127 once again has proven that they are next level superstars through ‘The Unity’.

NCT 127 3RD TOUR ‘NEO CITY – THE UNITY’ was successfully kicked off last November 2023 that took place over a span of 2 weeks from November 17 to 19 and continued to November 24 to 26 that was held at KSPO Dome in Seoul, Korea, a venue having 15,000 capacity and 6 nights of sold out shows in Korea alone proves that this group is really breaking barriers.

Seoul, Korea

Throughout the 6 nights in KSPO Dome, we have witnessed electrifying performances that was opened by Punch, followed by Superhuman, Ay-Yo, Crash Landing, Space, Time Lapse and Skyscraper – despite having to perform 7 songs consistently they made sure to really hype up their crowd for their welcoming ments. The next set of performances were Parade, DJ, Yacht/Boom and Je Ne Sai Quoi, that set the crowd’s mood for screams and high fanchants.

As we enter the 2nd part of the show we now look back at a literal fire truck peeping out the stage with the members riding it – during the Fire truck performance the members were briefly playing with their fog blowers in hand plotting agendas against each other, this was followed by Sit Down! where everyone joined Johnny in his line “Don’t get up, don’t stand up. Please don’t put your hand up, and don’t make me tell you again!” With the hype that was already set, this was eventually followed by Chain and transitioned to Cherry Bomb. Having those fired-up performances they finally had a quick break with their 2nd ments. It was eventually followed by soul lifting top tier ballads; Gold Dust, Fly Away With Me, Misty/Magic Carpet RIde, and Love is a Beauty which made everyone emotional show after show.

As we are nearing the end, the emotions are all misplaced at this point – the 3rd part was a mix of sultry and high intensity performances beginning with Simon Says, Tasty and everyone’s favorite – Favorite, in between were short ments before they actually perform the so called “trinity” which includes Kick It, 2 Baddies, and Fact Check. Despite this being the highest part of the show, this was also the perfect wrap-up list before we also wrap up those emotions that was misplaced throughout the show.

And we reach the last part of the show – Encore. the emotions are starting to build up as they go back on the stage wearing their shirts, and singing to Angel Eyes. As they perform Pandora’s Box/Black Clouds anyone there can clearly tell that every end of the show was their heaviest and everyone was trying their best holding it together and while still give comfort to NCT’s pilar – Taeyong.

As they deliver their last ment, comforting yet emotional words are coming from each member – proves how scared this group is about their future, how the fans may perceive them and how they overcome every thought that they had preparing for this tour – as Doyoung said the words “being a fan of someone doesn’t mean that they became a fan simply because you’re good at one thing. it’s just that the moment you start supporting that person as a whole, you become a fan.” became his source of comfort…

The concert ended with a heartwarming performance of Promise You – with the words “I promise you, on the day we meet again I’ll smile, and more than saying any words at all. Just like you showed me, this time I will give you my heart for eternity” like a sealed promise between Ilichil to Chilzens that one day they will meet again and when that day comes, there will be no pain, no lies – just staying by each other’s side.

Bulacan, Philippines.

Despite being the only stop having a single day show – fans from the Philippines did not disappoint. From fan projects from different fan bases and performing at The Philippine Stadium, the biggest stadium in the Philippines, Ilichil along with Chilzens still filled the venue with the members’ impactful performances and fans’ loud screams that reached the outer proximity of the venue.

As for the setlist it was not much different from other stops beside performing their recent track Be There for Me – one of the show’s highlights was when the fans were screaming ‘Sticker’ the members pretended not to hear anything and Jaehyun proceeds to “So this banner…” eventually being an inside joke for Filo fans.

Despite not having Taeil for this tour, the members made it seem like they brought him along with them (Taeil, we miss you…)

Ments were truly short yet meaningful – check @onemediaaccess on X for updates

“We are not sure when we will be back but we will make sure that we will show a better performance” “CZENNIES I LOVE YOU!!” #HAECHAN

“I will always be right here doing my best, I hope you will always be there for me” #JAEHYUN

“We really love you, Philippines I really want to meet you often, but until then be happy, be safe (you know what I mean?) see you soon 🥺 #TAEYONG

“my body condition was not really great so I was really worried, but because of your cheers I was able to finish safely. we cannot come here more often but thank you for all your support… love you guys!” #YUTA

“we actually ripped it tonight 🤘 i think i can actually capture more memories from tonight.. I will never forget all the memories, Thank you so much and I will make sure to comeback next time if there’s opportunities” #JUNGWOO

Tokyo, Japan

The last stop. Performing at the Tokyo Dome for a solo concert is an artist’s dream, but selling up Tokyo Dome – fully opening up all seating capacity is power. That is one thing Ilichil can prove, them being the powerful group of their generation.

The fans’ support did not stop at the venue, fujitv in Japan held a TV broadcast and one X user (@braidedwithMARK) was also nice enough to provide a full free live stream which gathered 270,000 views.

As this being considered their last stop, all emotions were truly heightened in and out of the venue premise. Performances we’re also 10X hyped up and each member we’re really doing their extra best to end this tour well. The setlist was not much different except Sunny Road was part of the encore.

Adding to the emotional damage, a video shown to the members which was really emotional for everyone – this felt like a time capsule video… Taeyong doing the salute sign was not on anyone’s bingo card that night but this had to be brought up, him also patting his members as if assuring them that “you got this” as emotional as it is, chilzens wanted to give them something, a fan project that was prepared with love showing them “We are always here” banner assuring the members that even if it will take a long time again, chilzens will always be there for ilichil.

As the concert ends, The Unity tour ends along with it, as they bid goodbye their leader Taeyong entrusts his members to Chilzens by saying “please take care of my members”. Doyoung saying his heartfelt words ending with “I think there were times that could only be possible because it’s us. When we all get together again… I hope the time when we can meet fans—with us being a little more mature—comes..”

The Unity was a gateway for NCT 127 to show their gratitude towards their fans, having such a short tour which only took 4 months, fans from all around the globe still found their way to support them and give love to them amidst all obstacles.
