“‘Shiny’ is an organization created by a mother who lost her son and knew he would move towards the light, like the name Shiny.”.
The SHINY FOUNDATION (재단법인 빛이나) was established last September 16, 2018 in honor of the late artist Kim Jonghyun of SHINee. This foundation was created to comfort and support young cultural artists – it offers assistance to those young and struggling artist without the backing of an agency. The core mission is to build a psychological counseling center that aims to provide emotional support to artist who may have who may have had experienced significant challenges and psychological wounds.
The foundation also promotes the growth of those artists who are committed to cultural and
artistic pursuits by supporting gradual improvement in their abilities. it provides psychological counseling and healing, ensuring
that cultural and artistic activities can be pursued with a healthy mindset.

Mustard Seed Scholarship is a scholarship support program that provides scholarships to teenagers aspiring to become a professional cultural artists. Recipients are selected based on excellent grades, talents, and exemplary attitudes.

Youth Meet Up is a recently launched program. Derived from the concept of “MEET UP,” this unique psychological counseling project is centered around the idea of meeting and gathering to foster trust and mutual support. The word “UP” symbolizes the act of lifting each other up, both emotionally and professionally. This initiative brings together young artists and cultural figures to openly share their thoughts and concerns, creating a supportive environment. By offering a safe space for dialogue, the project aims to ensure the mental and emotional well-being of these artists, empowering them to continue pursuing their creative endeavors with renewed strength and balance.
Light and Arts Festival is a way to celebrate the late artist’s enduring influence. These festivals aims to provide a platform for cultural and artistic figures from various genres, giving them the space and resources to fully express their talents. Supported by initiatives like (Re)Bitina, this endeavor is committed to nurturing creative individuals, offering them opportunities to grow and evolve. With hope for a brighter future, these efforts are dedicated to fostering continuous development in the arts.

The foundation also provides Emergency and other support which aims to provide assistance to artists and their families, particularly those facing financial crises, including low-income individuals and households. The support includes the provision of monthly women’s products, summer and winter youth lunch assistance, and coal briquette distribution for emergency households twice a year. Through these efforts, the foundation aims to alleviate the financial burdens of the families, ensuring that they receive essential aid during times of need.

Monthly and Yearly auctions to help aid the financials of the foundation – all proceeds from the auctions will be used to support the youth and young artists. A “Star Collectibles Auction” is being held on an annual basis which is an opportunity for fans and collectors to acquire items cherished by their favorite stars. This event is driven by the hope that these beloved possessions will find new life and greater value in the hands of others. By passing on these treasured items, we aim to honor the legacy of the stars and allow their memorabilia to bring joy and meaning to their new owners. Each piece holds a special place in the star’s life, and now, it can continue to shine in someone else’s.
